Everywhere you turn, nearly everything is gonna kill you, so why care? Because it is unconscionable that corporations are allowed to poison us. Period. Refuse to be poisoned for profit.
DEHP, Di(2-thylhexyl)phthalate, used in plastics to make them softer may leach from your plastic water bottle into the water you are drinking. DEHP is a pseudo-estrogen and acts as an endocrine disrupter. The FDA does not require bottled water manufacturers to use certified laboratories for water tests or to publish their test results. DEHP has been classified as a potential carcinogen.
The plastic industry won’t tell you this. Coke, Pepsi and Nestle won’t tell you this. The FDA is finally doing its’ own research. Up until this point the FDA was relying on information provided from the plastics companies. Go figure.
When you do your own research make sure to find out who is supporting the website. (Where will this lead you?) Unfortunately, DEHP is not the only chemical of concern in plastics, we are also being poisoned by polyethylene, polypropylene and BPA, Bisphenol-A.
