Disgusting Tidbit
Disgusting Tidbit
This is an actual sample of water from the Pacific Ocean Gyre. It is absolutely full of plastic. A veritable plastic soup, and much of it made from plastic bottles and bags. www.algalita.org
All over the internet there are websites and blogs and people spouting off. So this is where I am going to do the same. A lot of what I read sounds like this; “Whatever...everything is gonna kill me anyway, if it’s not plastic, it’s corn syrup.” “I really don’t have time to do all of this recycling stuff, I mean, come on, does it matter?”
I understand you might not have time to cook dinner for your family, or exercise, or read a book, or even wash your hair, but you can carry a reusable bag, you can carry a reusable water bottle. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s that bottle of wine you drank last night. You can sign a petition to establish return fees on bottles, you can reduce.
Then you can reduce some more. I have faith that you can. At this point what other choice do we have but to start trying to save the world. We have the power to make change. If, in the future, you have something that you’re really passionate about let me know.
In the meantime, don’t buy one more plastic water bottle. After that, get rid of your soda bottles and your grocery bags. We have the power to change industry by adjusting some of our very basic habits.
